Branded domains (1-click)

Point your own domain at AffKeeper with a single CNAME — TLS is issued automatically.

Instead of the built-in shortener, you can serve links on your own domain (e.g. go.yourbrand.com or yourbrand.link). AffKeeper issues the HTTPS certificate for it automatically — there’s nothing to install on a server.

Add a domain

  1. In the panel open Domains → Add domain and enter your domain (or subdomain).

  2. In your DNS provider, add a CNAME record pointing your domain to:

    cname.affkeeper.com

Caution — Point it directly (grey / “DNS only” if your DNS is on Cloudflare — not proxied / orange). AffKeeper needs to reach your domain directly to issue its certificate.

  3. Back in the panel, click Verify. AffKeeper checks that the domain now routes to it.

  4. Done. The first time someone opens a link on your domain, a real Let’s Encrypt certificate is issued automatically — no action from you.

Content policy review. Occasionally a domain name trips our automated content filter. When that happens the domain is added but marked Under review — a human looks at it and approves or declines it within 48 hours (you’ll get an email either way). You can set up the CNAME meanwhile; verification unlocks the moment it’s approved. Filters are never perfect, so a perfectly fine domain can occasionally be queued — the review fixes that.

Set a default host

Mark one domain as Default so new links pre-select it. You can still choose a different host per link.

What your domain serves

A branded domain serves only your short links (and the verification check). The login and dashboard live on affkeeper.com, never on your branded domain.

Shared “local hosts”

Some domains are provided by AffKeeper as shared local hosts — available to everyone as a host option, marked with a Local host badge. You’ll see them in the host dropdown alongside your own domains. (Only administrators can publish a domain as a shared local host.)

Troubleshooting

  • Verify fails — give DNS a few minutes to propagate, confirm the CNAME points to cname.affkeeper.com, and that it’s not proxied (grey cloud on Cloudflare).
  • Certificate warning on first hit — the certificate is issued on the first request; if you opened it a split second early, refresh once.

In every case you’re creating the same record — only the UI differs:

Field Value
Type CNAME
Name / Host your subdomain (e.g. go), or @ for the bare domain*
Target / Value / Points to cname.affkeeper.com
TTL default (or 5–30 min)

* Some registrars don’t allow a CNAME on the bare domain (@) — use a subdomain like go.yourbrand.com, or a registrar that supports CNAME flattening (e.g. Cloudflare, Porkbun).

Cloudflare

  1. Dashboard → your domain → DNS → Records → Add record.
  2. Type CNAME, Name: your subdomain (or @ — Cloudflare flattens it automatically), Target: cname.affkeeper.com.
  3. Set the cloud to grey (“DNS only”) — this is the step people miss. An orange (proxied) cloud routes traffic through Cloudflare and AffKeeper can’t issue the certificate for your domain.

Namecheap

  1. Domain List → Manage next to your domain → Advanced DNS.
  2. Add New Record → Type CNAME Record, Host: go (your subdomain), Value: cname.affkeeper.com → save (green check).

GoDaddy

  1. My Products → your domain → DNS (Manage DNS).
  2. Add New Record → Type CNAME, Name: go, Value: cname.affkeeper.com → Save.

OVH

  1. Web Cloud → Domain names → your domain → DNS zone.
  2. Add an entry → CNAME, Sub-domain: go, Target: cname.affkeeper.com. (OVH adds the trailing dot) → confirm.

home.pl

  1. Panel klienta → Domeny → your domain → Konfiguracja DNS (rekordy DNS).
  2. Dodaj rekord → Typ CNAME, Nazwa: go, Wartość: cname.affkeeper.com → zapisz.

nazwa.pl

  1. Panel Active.admin → Domeny → your domain → Konfiguracja DNS.
  2. Dodaj wpis → Typ CNAME, Nazwa hosta: go, Wskazuje na: cname.affkeeper.com → zatwierdź.

Porkbun

  1. Domain Management → your domain → DNS Records.
  2. Type CNAME (or ALIAS for the bare domain), Host: go, Answer: cname.affkeeper.com → Add.

Tip

DNS changes usually apply within minutes, but can take up to an hour. Once the record is in place, go back to Domains → Verify in the panel — the first visit to your domain then issues its HTTPS certificate automatically.
