WordPress plugin
Cloak and track links on your own WordPress site — and pick which of them AffKeeper monitors.
The AffKeeper plugin turns your WordPress site into its own link shortener: links live at
yoursite.com/go/your-slug, redirect instantly from your server and count clicks locally.
No account is needed for that — connecting one adds monitoring and full analytics on top.
Get the plugin: in wp-admin go to Plugins → Add New and search for AffKeeper (WordPress.org listing) — updates arrive automatically. A ZIP with version history is also on the plugin page.
How a WordPress link works
- The redirect always runs on your site. AffKeeper never sits between your visitor and the destination, so your links keep working even if you disconnect or cancel.
- Clicks are counted by the plugin and reported to your account within seconds; an hourly sync reconciles the exact numbers.
- Each click’s referrer and device type are forwarded too, so the panel shows real breakdowns. Countries appear automatically when your server already knows the visitor’s country (Cloudflare and many hosts add a geo header) — only the two-letter country code is sent, and the visitor’s IP address never leaves your site.
The Monitor toggle — what uses a plan slot
One rule: a plan slot is used by a link AffKeeper takes care of.
| Link | Redirects from | Uses a slot | Monitoring & panel stats |
|---|---|---|---|
| Created in the panel (affk.cc / your domain) | AffKeeper | always | always |
| WordPress link, Monitor ON | your site | yes | yes |
| WordPress link, Monitor OFF | your site | no | no |
You can create as many local WordPress links as you like — they cost nothing and never touch your plan. Ticking “Monitor in AffKeeper” (in the Add/Edit dialog) puts that link on your account: availability or broken-link alerts, click charts, one slot. Affiliate links get the toggle on by default (that’s the point of them); plain redirects default to off.
Turning the toggle off frees the slot immediately — the redirect keeps working. If you import more links than your plan holds, the most-clicked ones get monitored first and the rest wait, clearly marked “Not monitored” on the list.
Editing — which side owns what
Both sides stay in sync automatically:
- Slug and existence are managed in WordPress (the site serves the redirect, so it has the final word). Renaming a slug there updates the panel within seconds.
- Destination can be edited on either side. A panel edit shows “Awaiting WP sync” until your site applies it — on the next wp-admin visit or within the hour.
- Deleting the panel record doesn’t break anything: the link still redirects, and monitoring can be re-enabled any time.
- The fallback URL (rerouting visitors when a product becomes unbuyable) exists only for links AffKeeper itself hosts. A WordPress link’s redirect runs on your server, so the panel physically can’t reroute it — which is why neither edit form offers the field for these links.
Inserting links with the shortcode
The copy icon next to each link on the Links screen copies a ready-made shortcode — paste it into a post and add your own text:
[affkeeper slug="your-slug"]Buy on the marketplace[/affkeeper]
It renders with the right SEO attributes automatically: rel="sponsored" for affiliate links,
rel="nofollow" for plain redirects. The same slug may exist on more than one of your domains
(that’s fine — a link’s identity is domain + slug); in that case add the domain so the shortcode
picks the right one:
[affkeeper slug="your-slug" domain="affk.cc"]Buy on the marketplace[/affkeeper]
The copy button does this for you — when a slug has a twin on another domain, the copied shortcode
already includes domain="…".
What the panel can and can’t show
Click totals and the daily chart are exact. Referrer and device breakdowns cover clicks forwarded since the link joined your account; countries appear when your server provides a geo header. That’s an honest physical limit — the click never passes through AffKeeper’s servers, your site tells us about it.
Disconnecting and switching accounts
- Disconnect (Settings → Disconnect): your links keep redirecting — nothing on your site depends on the connection. The account instantly marks this site’s links “Not reporting” and pauses their monitoring; the records and history stay untouched.
- Reconnect the same account: monitoring and stats resume exactly where they left off, with no duplicates.
- Connect a different account: your links are re-synced to the new account automatically (click totals and recent daily history come along). The old account keeps its own frozen records until you remove them there — accounts never touch each other’s data.
