Creating & managing links
Slugs, redirect types, path prefixes, folders and tags — everything about links.
Creating a link
Links → New Link. The important fields:
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Destination URL | Where visitors are sent. Must start with http:// or https://. |
| Host | The domain the short link uses — the built-in shortener, or one of your branded domains. |
| Slug | The short code after the domain. Blank = auto-generated (lowercase letters + digits). |
| Redirect type | 302 temporary (default), 301 permanent, or meta refresh. |
| Affiliate | Mark on if the destination is an AliExpress product you want stock-monitored. |
The full short link is host + slug (optionally with a path prefix — see below).
Editing a link
Open a link to change its destination, slug, redirect type or host. Changing the destination of an affiliate link re-detects the product and refreshes its name and availability automatically — you don’t have to re-save first.
Regenerating the slug
On the link detail page you can generate a fresh slug. The old short URL stops resolving, so only do this if the old one isn’t in circulation. (WordPress-served links are the exception: their slug is managed on your site, in the plugin — see the WordPress plugin guide.)
Path prefix
Links created in the panel are always host + slug — clean, Bitly-style, no path segment to
configure. A path prefix (like yoursite.com/go/abc) appears only on links served by the
WordPress plugin, where the prefix is set once per site in the
plugin’s settings (or via the API).
Organising: folders, tags, source pages
The links list has two grouping axes so a big list stays usable:
- Folders — manual categories you create (e.g. Summer campaign). A link in a folder shows under it.
- Source pages — the page a link was placed on; links group under that URL automatically.
- Tags — free-form labels for filtering.
Switch between Grouped and Flat views at the top of the list. In Grouped view, folder groups and source-page groups appear together, differing only by icon. Use the bulk bar to move to folder or assign to a page for many links at once.
QR codes
Every link has a QR code you can preview and download in several formats. See QR codes.
